Méav Ní Mhaochatha
Méav is an Irish singer and recording artist known for her multi-million-selling albums. She was educated in the Irish language and studied classical voice, harp, and piano. Méav has performed with Riverdance, the National Chamber Choir of Ireland, Anúna, Elvis Costello, and the Chieftains. She has starred in Lord of the Dance and toured extensively, performing in Europe, North America, Japan, and Korea. Méav's solo career began with the RTE Concert Orchestra, where she released three successful albums. In 2004, she was invited to be one of the founding members of the female supergroup Celtic Woman, which has sold six million records worldwide. Méav's albums have reached number 1 on the Billboard World Music Charts. In 2012, she met legendary producer Craig Leon and they collaborated on The Calling, a contemporary pop treatment of new songs and folk classics from Ireland, England, Scotland, Brittany, Galicia, and America. Méav has performed as a guest soloist with international orchestras and was voted Best Female Vocalist 2013 in the Irish Music Awards.
