CóR is a new Irish professional chamber choir whose mission is to promote the work of Irish choral composers. ‘Cór’ is the Irish word for ‘choir’.

 

CóR plans to give workshops to connect a variety of choirs around Ireland and overseas with this repertoire. CóR also plans to give concerts both in Ireland and abroad to showcase this work to audiences, and to make recordings in order to document and archive it.

 

CóR will endeavour to give Irish choral composers the national and ultimately international standing that they so richly deserve. In trying to achieve this we will be promoting our vocal and choral culture both traditional and contemporary, and also connecting with new audiences both in Ireland and abroad.
